Pitch Type

The most important thing to do in the build up to a home match is to decide what pitch type will give you the most advantage.

To make best use of this you need to look at both your players and the opposition players, there is no point picking a dusty pitch if you only have 1 spinner and your opposition has 2 or 3.

The players suited to each pitch type are as follows.

Types of pitch available :

UNEVEN PITCH
Favours seam bowlers.
An unproven theory that the bowler's consistency may have a role.
Favours FM bowlers.

CRACKED PITCH
Favours seam bowlers.
Favours F bowlers.
Higher consistency needed.

HARD AND FAST PITCH
Favours batsmen.
Advantages spinners over seamers

GREEN PITCH
Favours seam bowlers.
This is the pitch that new teams are given to start.
Favours M bowlers.

FLAT PITCH
Favours batsmen.
Advantages seamers over spinners.

DUSTY PITCH
Favours spin bowlers.

SLOW PITCH
Favours all bowlers.
